LEGO Festival – Liverpool

17th May 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

What is a LEGO Festival?

Tablet Academy have partnered with LEGO Education and HP to offer schools, colleges and educational organisations the opportunity to host or take part in a free LEGO Learning Festival. These events offer teachers and pupils the opportunity to take part in a range of activities linked to different areas of the curriculum including Computing, Engineering, Mathematics, Literacy and Science.

Workshop Content:

Engineering: Complete a structure strong enough to sustain weights within the allocated time.

Mathematics: Solve a maths challenge to ensure your robot travels the required distance.

History: Re-create machines from history following historic diagrams.

Computing: Programme your Mars Rover to navigate it’s way out of the maze.

Science: Discover more about life cycles using LEGO.

Literacy: Use your imagination to complete the story in words and in LEGO bricks.

The details…

The Festival programme is as follows:

  • The LEGO Education Learning Festivals are designed for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students.
  • The day is split into two workshops, morning (09:00-11:30) and afternoon (13:30-16:00). The content is repeated in both sessions.
  • Each attending school can send 1 member of staff and up to 5 pupils to participate in their selected workshop.
  • The workshops are led by consultants from the Tablet Academy who will guide staff and students through the circuit of activities allowing pupils to learn and teachers to observe as well as learn.

What’s the cost?

Thanks to the support from LEGO Education and HP, Tablet Academy are able to deliver these events for FREE! The hope is, by attending the festival teachers and pupils will be inspired and informed about how the solutions can help bring the national curriculum to life, not just the STEM and Computing Curriculum but for all subject areas.
