Virtual Reality Pupil Enrichment Day
DISCOVER A NEW WAY OF LEARNING
A Virtual Reality Pupil Enrichment Day is a chance for primary or secondary students and teachers to experience learning with VR in a classroom setting.
WHAT IS THE COST TO SCHOOLS?
Full-day Enrichment: £700
Half-day Enrichment: £500
WHAT IS VIRTUAL REALITY?
Virtual Reality in education can help students gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and ignite their imagination. Our Virtual Reality sessions allow you to take your class to another planet and back again without even leaving the classroom. Your students will be engaged and inspired by breath-taking scenes from around the world, gain an understanding of physics by flying into space, explore the human body and many more immersive experiences.
WHY SHOULD YOU GET INVOLVED?
Virtual Reality is quickly becoming a valuable learning resource as a way to engage and inspire learners to get a deeper understanding of a vast range of topics. Teachers attending the workshop will gain knowledge and ideas about how they can integrate VR into their own lessons and can feedback to their colleagues. Students will have an exciting experience and learn a great deal of content in just one short session.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A Virtual Reality Enrichment Day is designed for Key Stage 2 or 3 Pupils but can be adapted to suit other age groups. Pupils will take part in a Virtual Reality experience, which can be used to assist teaching of a range of curriculum subjects such as Geography, History, Biology, Physics and Engineering.
We discuss the aims of the day, curate appropriate VR content and plan the sessions to focus on the key learning objectives.
The sessions are led by experienced Tablet Academy educators who will guide staff and students through the activity allowing pupils to learn and teachers to observe and learn as well.
Each session will typically last for 30 minutes. Timings can be adjusted to suit school timetables.
Up to 30 students can take part in each session. A member of staff is required to be present during the workshop plus any additional support staff as required.
The Duke Of York Inspiring Digital Entrepreneur Award
Pupils who attend the workshops will also be awarded a digital badge linked to the Duke of York iDEA scheme. This is a new programme still in its infancy which is comparable to the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The difference being the iDEA programme is based on digital skills. The badge awarded to pupils for attending the event contributes points towards achieving their Bronze award which they can do independently online.
